“Do to others as you would have them do to you.”
Luke 6:31 NIV
People helping people. Isn’t that what life is all about? Kindness. Goodness. Love. Jesus spent his entire life serving people. He yearned for every man, woman, and child to open their hearts to the ways of unconditional love and to walk the path of righteousness. Not an easy task, by any means.
Jesus led by example. His grace and love reached beyond all immeasurability. He never slighted a hurting soul. His altruistic kindness could soften the crustiest of hearts. Physically, Jesus should not have been able to carry our burdens, but He did and still does. Mentally, he should have withered and died as he trudged his way to Calvary, but he did not. Spiritually, God etched His only son within a godly protective barrier of love, kindness, and sinlessness. Jesus, our Savior, was born with a perfect heart to teach and shield his beloved followers.
You see, we are an imperfect lot. We live in an imperfect world. Wrong decisions are prone to happen, mistakes haze our days with shame, and shortcomings thread our life with guilt. But our beautiful Lord and Savior provides the pureness of his blood to repair it all.
If we allow goodness and kindness to enlighten our soul, if we mirror ourselves in the likeness of Jesus, all too soon the sprouting of unconditional love opens its arms to a world of lost and hurting souls. There is nothing more beautiful than the beating hearts of people helping people.
Precious One, let today be the day you … “ Do to others as you would have them do to you” (Luke 6:31 NIV). Jesus is right beside you—leading, teaching, helping, and loving you—always and forever.
Heavenly Father,
Teach me to understand the true depths of unconditional love. Remind me to reach out and help those in need. I yearn to be that beating heart to all people. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
